Ingredients
- 3 ripe peaches
- 1 organic lemon
- 3 black tea bags
- 1.2 liters (5 cups) water
- 4 tbsp sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes for serving
- Optional: fresh mint & extra peach slices for garnish
Directions
Prep the fruit:
Wash the peaches and lemon thoroughly. Slice the peaches into thin wedges, and cut the lemon into thin rounds.Simmer for flavor:
In a saucepan, bring 600 ml (2 ยฝ cups) of water to a boil. Add the peach slices, lemon slices, and sugar or honey. Let it simmer gently for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and cool slightly.Brew the tea:
Boil the remaining 600 ml (2 ยฝ cups) of water. Let cool slightly (90โฏยฐC / 195โฏยฐF), then steep the tea bags for 3โ4 minutes. Remove bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.Combine & chill:
Strain the peach mixture through a fine sieve, collecting the flavored liquid. Combine it with the brewed tea in a large pitcher and stir well.Serve:
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve over ice with fresh peach slices and mint leaves for garnish.
