Ingredients

1 litre apple juice (preferably unfiltered)
500 ml apple cider
2 apples
1 cinnamon stick
2–3 cloves
1 star anise
1 vanilla pod, split
100 ml rum
50 ml amaretto
1 orange
honey or brown sugar (to taste)

Directions

Prepare the apples: Peel the apples and cut into small cubes. Pour the apple juice and cider over them.
Add the spices: Put the cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise, orange peel and the scraped vanilla pod and shell in the pan.
Heat the punch: Heat the punch slowly, but do not boil it. Let it steep for about 15–20 minutes so that the spices release their aroma.
Add rum and amaretto: Remove the pot from the stove and stir in the rum and amaretto.
Sweeten: Sweeten to taste with honey or brown sugar.
Remove the spices and enjoy the punch while it's hot.

Recipe Note

The Christmas market feeling without freezing outside. My baked apple punch can easily be modified with other fruit pieces, different alcohols or juices. Let your imagination run wild and enjoy a Christmas evening.
