How to use a bialetti coffee maker?

Optimum use
The Bialetti coffee machine is indispensable in Italy and stands for the ability to create an espresso that outshines even some portafilter machines with its flavour and body. Here you can find out how to make the best possible coffee:

Preparation:
Fill the lower part of the Bialetti with warm water up to the safety valve (inside).
Warm water not only shortens the brewing time, but also preserves the flavour of the coffee.

The coffee:
Pour the coffee into the filter insert without pressing it down. Be gentle with it. The ideal grain size is between the fineness for espresso and that for filter coffee. (medium fine - medium coarse)

Assemble the jug:
Once the filter insert has been filled, place it on the lower part of the jug and screw the upper part of the jug on tightly.

Cook the coffee:
Place the jug on a medium heat. As soon as the coffee starts to rise in the upper part, reduce the heat.
If the coffee rises too quickly, this can be a sign that the heat is too high and the coffee will burn.

Wait for the perfect moment:
Watch the brewing process closely. When the coffee has stopped flowing and a gurgling sound can be heard, it is time to remove the pot from the heat. Quickly cooling the bottom part under cold water will stop the brewing process and preserve the flavour.

Cleaning:
After each use, clean the jug with warm water, avoid using soap so as not to affect the flavour. Be sure to dry completely before reassembling!
